Puerto Rosales reached a new all-time operational record in May by handling 2,065,236 tonnes of crude oil from Vaca Muerta, reinforcing its role as a strategic hub for Argentina’s energy industry and foreign trade. As part of this continued growth, the port welcomed the Belgian-flagged tanker Orión, a 270-meter-long vessel that berthed at Terminal 1 to load 139,900 cubic meters of crude oil. Once loading operations are completed, the tanker will depart for El Segundo, United States, its scheduled export destination. According to the information provided, both the record crude volumes handled during May and the arrival of large tankers underscore the sustained expansion of Argentina’s hydrocarbon exports and Puerto Rosales’ growing integration into the global energy supply chain.
