Road Freight Transport Costs Have Risen 17.8% So Far This Year – Trade News | 10/05/26

Road freight transport costs in Argentina have increased 17.8% so far in 2026, according to the index prepared by the Argentine Federation of Freight Transport Business Entities (Fadeeac), reflecting strong pressure on the sector’s operating structure amid a highly volatile economic environment. The main driver behind the increases continues to be fuel prices, along with higher costs in areas such as labor, repairs, tires, general expenses, and rolling stock, directly affecting transport companies’ profitability and raising logistics costs across the entire production chain. In this context, the sector warns that continued increases in key inputs and related services are making it difficult to maintain competitive rates and operational predictability, particularly for activities linked to foreign trade and domestic supply chains.
