At the 32nd Annual Meeting of ARLOG, attended by over 500 logistics professionals, 90% of companies identified road infrastructure as the sector’s biggest outstanding issue. Additionally, 79% plan to invest in 2026 in storage technology, robotics, automation and AI; 70% intend to expand warehouse capacity and 53% expect to invest in new transport vehicles. Despite optimism—64% expect economic improvement in 2026—concerns remain: 42% foresee a year of “forced efficiency” and more than 40% cite increasing operational costs and low profitability. A study by FADEEAC covering 22,700 km of national and provincial roads found large portions in “fair or poor” condition, with pavement cracks, inadequate signage and deteriorated shoulders, which directly affects accident rates, raises operating cost overruns (between 3.2% and 7.8%) and undermines transport competitiveness.
