Transport Costs Slow Down in May After Sharp Rise in April - Trade News | 03/06/25

In May 2025, freight transport costs in Argentina increased by 0.81%, marking a significant slowdown from April's 3.77% rise and representing the lowest monthly increase of the year. This relief is mainly attributed to a 2.1% drop in diesel prices and the extension of specific fuel tax deferments established by Decrees 296/25 and 368/25. However, other components such as General Expenses (3.41%), Rolling Stock (2.27%), and Repairs (1.87%) showed increases, while the Personnel category rose by 1% due to the final installment of the current wage agreement. Despite the moderation, as of June 1st, fuel prices saw a new 1% adjustment, which could reverse the trend in the coming months. Link
