In January 2026, internal transport costs in Argentina rose by 20.8 %, according to the Transport Studies Center (CET) of the Chamber of Logistics Operators (Cedol). The report indicates this rise was driven mainly by increases in fuel prices (diesel and gasoline), which heavily impact trucking operating costs, as well as significant hikes in tires, tolls and insurance. The document also notes that, despite some reductions in tax burdens, the overall pressure of logistics costs in the distribution chain remains high, posing challenges for transport companies and logistics operators already facing moderate demand. The chamber warns that these cost increases will be reflected in the final prices of goods and services, affecting the competitiveness of key economic sectors. Link to Article
