Record growth in Argentine mining exports – Trade News | 14/10/25

Argentina recorded a historic surge in mining exports during the first nine months of 2025, reaching USD 4.213 billion—a 32.9 % increase compared to the same period last year—driven by rising international prices for gold and silver and expanding lithium production, with seven active projects. According to the Argentine Investment and International Trade Agency (AAICI), this marks the highest cumulative export value in the sector’s history. Since mid-2024, the AAICI has strengthened efforts to attract foreign mining investment, promoting over 300 active projects at global events such as the PDAC convention in Toronto. With 75 % of its territory still unexplored, Argentina has strong potential to expand sustainable production of lithium, gold, silver, and copper, as well as other minerals including lime, borates, gypsum, granite, and critical elements like rare earths, cobalt, nickel, and graphite.
