Neuquén Doubles Oil Export Revenue in the First Five Months of 2026 – Data Portuaria | 23/06/26

The Argentine province of Neuquén recorded strong growth in oil and gas exports between January and May 2026, reinforcing its position as the country’s leading energy-exporting province, according to INDEC data. During the first five months of the year, export revenues increased by 103.5% year over year, rising from US$1.695 billion in the same period of 2025 to US$3.45 billion in 2026. The report states that 98% of the increase in the province’s exports was driven by hydrocarbon production from local fields. At the national level, while Argentina’s total exports grew by 24.3%, exports of fuels and energy expanded by 44.9%, with 91% of that sector’s growth attributed to production from Vaca Muerta. As a result, Neuquén’s share of Argentina’s energy exports increased from 38.3% to 54.7%, while its contribution to the country’s total exports rose from 5.2% to 8.5%, further strengthening its role as Argentina’s leading generator of foreign exchange within the energy sector.
