In the first nine months of 2025, public ports in Buenos Aires province handled 41.9 million tonnes of cargo, marking a 10.1 % increase over the same period in 2024, with growth concentrated in bulk export cargo reaching 23.9 million tonnes — the highest in seven years. Container throughput also rose sharply, with 395,419 units moved — 77.4 % more than in 2024, driven by the addition of two new services and the recovery of transshipment to Paraguay. Improved operational efficiency and storage capacity were evident, including a 19.4 % increase at Coronel Rosales and a 70.6 % jump in crude oil movements (5 million tonnes). Between August and September 2025, 6,197 vessels were handled, along with 1 million trucks and 53 000 rail wagons, and key cargoes included crude oil, liquid fuels and gases (48 %) and grains and oilseeds (36 %), reinforcing the role of Buenos Aires province ports as a strategic logistics and foreign trade hub.
