Argentine Government Reaches Agreement with Maritime Pilots, Restoring Port Operations – La Nación | 04/08/26

The Argentine government reached an agreement with representatives of the maritime pilotage sector that will allow the immediate restoration of vessel navigation assistance services and the normalization of port operations. Under the agreement, the parties approved a 20% reduction in pilotage service tariffs and the suspension of the implementation of the pilotage deregulation decree. They also agreed to establish a working group coordinated by the National Government, with the participation of the Security and Defense authorities as well as other relevant agencies, to review the different aspects of the activity and examine the provisions included in the deregulation framework.
